antispyware focuses on mainly the spyware that infects your computer, like pop ups and things like that

antivirius focuses mainly on the viriuses like the trojans etc that exist they both will find some of the others but may not find them all.

firewall is what helps to protect your computer from someone on the outside getting into your files etc. which can do all kinds of damage to your comp not to mention get personal information you may have stored on there.
What the others have told you about antispyware and anti virus are true. However, to make it more clear they only look for those specific things. By design the reactive vs. proactive.

A firewall is a proactive protection it will close your computers ports and ask you if you this application to run or not and if some program want access to the Internet if you want to allow it or not. firewall will also watch for programs trying to install or trying to access protected services etc.

Truly you need all three to keep yourself safe and your information protected. Because, no program is full proof.
