Does anyone have trouble with Norton Antivirus 2008?

I need a new Antivirus. I was looking at the Norton Antivirus 2008 with Antispyware 3 Usr. . I have had Norton in the past and when it was about to expire it slowed down my computer and seemed almost to let certain things like spyware through so you would buy a new copy faster. I just had Windows Live One Care and liked it but I read that it is one of the worst at catching viruses

i have Norton Internet security and i don't have any problems with it, although if it detects a virus it does slow down your computer when you permit it to scan your system for the virus and it takes about an hour if you aren't doing anything on the computer whilst it scans. But I've had Norton Internet security for ages and as long as you update it before it expires it works really well and protects your computer against everything.
Norton is quite resource intense and has gotten worse with each new release. There are other AV packages out there that are just as good and are less resource intense and run faster. CA is good, and I prefer AVG 8.0 I will never go back to Norton.
Norton is terrible. I used to use it but it ended up malfunctioning and blocking my internet entirely. I now use NOD32 - it's much better.
