Install programs: hard disk C or D?

i heard that if you use HD D to store data, your computer would run faster. so is it better to install programs like antispyware or registry cleaner on HD D instead of the default C?

One of the best pratice is you have to install OS %26 all the programs in drive C and store all the data in drive D...

It makes no difference which drive you install it on. If one is faster than the other its probably because you have more than 1 physical hard drive and one is generally better performing than the other

But it can help keep things organized i have 2 physical hard disks over 3 partitions and i keep my games installed on D, backs ups on a small I drive while other stuff goes on C
The actual letter means nothing. It just is the name of your drive. You will receive no speed bonus by changing the drives if they are equal hard drives. If you want your programs to run faster I could suggest get two HDD and use RAID 0. I'd ask a technical friend to help you with that. If you set it up like this you get faster read/access speeds and all your applications/os should run faster.
You can install them on d: but does the computer run faster? I don't think so.
always install programs on C: drive just to avoid any hastle or confusion
