No Audibles in Messenger?

OK, I have updated, uninstalled, reinstalled flash player, shockwave, YM 7.5,YM 8.1 and still NO AUDIBLES.

I have the toolbar, but there is nothing in it. When I pick something (Hellos, Goodbyes) nothing appears.

I have Win XP SP2, all updates from Microsoft, except IE 7, I use Firefox 2.0, 1.7 processor, 1 gig RAM and (2) 80 gig HDs, ran a FREE scan at pandasoftware.com, spybot, adaware, CCleaner, Advanced Windows Care, AVG AntiSpyware all that..... found nothing and STILL NO AUDIBLES.

I had them last week, but updated to 8.1 and now don't know how to get them back.

I have followed these instructions and still NO AUDIBLES

i maybe able to help u if u are talkin about yahoo messenger, if so go to where u have your list of names on yahoo go to top of it, clixk on messenger, and go down the list to privacy click on it, and find where it says alerts and sounds, make sure the boxes are checked at top where u enable sounds, and playin sound this should help i hope
